PNP 2021 of November: focused on Express Entry highlights

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) did not issue any invites through its PNP streams in November. This indicates that the province's nomination allocation quota for 2021 may have been achieved.

British Columbia
British Columbia performed six drawings in the last month, inviting 861 people to apply for a provincial nomination through the Express Entry British Columbia and Skills Immigration streams, roughly matching the number of invitations provided each month since the beginning of the year.
Manitoba
This month, the government of Manitoba held two draws in each of the three streams: Skilled Workers in Manitoba, International Education Stream, and Skilled Workers Overseas. The draws took place on November 1 and 18, and a total of 849 Letters of Advice to Apply were issued, with 143 of them going to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile.
Saskatchewan
The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) issued the largest invitation round of the year in November, with 633 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination issued through the Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand sub-categories of the International Skilled Worker Category. After a one-month hiatus, invitations were distributed in both subcategories for the first time in this round.
In December 2021, the SINP will begin a new pilot initiative to assist firms in recruiting overseas talent for certain in-demand occupations. Healthcare, manufacturing, agriculture, agricultural technology, construction, hospitality, and retail are among the industries with the highest Labour demand. Candidates for the new Hard-To-Fill Skills Pilot project must have a permanent, full-time employment offer, be fluent in an official Canadian language, and have the required education and work experience.
Alberta
The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) Express Entry Stream has hosted one invitation round so far in November. On November 9, the AINP held a draw and invited 200 candidates with CRS scores of at least 343.
Prince Edward Island
On November 18, Prince Edward Island held a huge pre-scheduled draw and granted a total of 188 invitations to immigration applicants. Express Entry and Labour Impact applicants received the majority of the invites (172). The remaining 16 invites were given to Business Impact candidates who scored at least 67 points. Nova Scotia
Food & beverage servers (NOC 6513), food counter attendants (NOC 6711), and light-duty cleaners (NOC 6513) are three new eligible jobs added to the Occupations In-Demand stream on November 18. (NOC 6731).
Newfoundland and Labrador
The results of the first three draws held under the Priority Skills Newfoundland and Labrador stream were revealed in November by Newfoundland and Labrador. The Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) has invited 663 people to submit for a provincial nomination so far this year.
What are Provincial Nomination Programs?
PNPs allow provinces and territories in Canada to nominate people for permanent immigration.
PNPs are divided into two categories:
- Base
- Enhanced
Base PNPs
Because base nomination streams are administered by the provinces, they operate independently of the Express Entry system. Nominations in this category are subject to the PNP stream's processing rules.
Candidates will often have to go through a two-step process to move from a successful base nomination to permanent residency. Candidates must first decide whether they satisfy the requirements for a PNP stream, then apply and, if accepted, receive a nomination certificate. They will be able to seek for permanent resident status with the federal government once they get this certificate.
Enhanced PNPs
On the other hand, enhanced nomination streams are linked to the Express Entry system. They enable provincial immigration officials to search the Express Entry candidate pool for those who meet specified requirements. These individuals are then invited to apply for a provincial nomination by the provinces.
The Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class all use the Express Entry system to manage the pool of candidates for Canada's three main federal-level economic immigration programmes.
