Approved language tests for Canadian PR if you are applying from India

The majority of Canada's economic immigration programmes include a language competency test. To exhibit your communication abilities, you must demonstrate your capacity to communicate in English or French. However, the test version you select is mostly determined by the immigration programme you select. To know about this in detail, contact Canada PR consultant.

In general, there are tree test providers who are allowed to give English language tests by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada. The tests include:

For English

1.       IELTS

IELTS (International English Language Testing System)- It is one of the most popular and recommended examinations for assessing English language competency, and it is accepted worldwide by most countries. In fact, IELTS is one of the most widely used tests in Canada, with companies, professional organizations, and educational institutions all recommending it. The IELTS is accepted by all Canadian institutions and colleges, and each has its own minimal CLB need to qualify.

The General Training and Academic sections of the IELTS are separated into two categories. General Training is designed for immigrants and includes a score for each module as well as a total band score. It rates your English language proficiency on a scale of 1 to 9 across all talents.

2.       CELPIP

It's also one of the most popular general English tests that the IRCC has authorized for immigration, professional designation, and citizenship. It assesses your ability to communicate in Canadian English only, containing components of British and American English as well as Canadian accents.

The CELPIP is also separated into two categories: General LS and General Test. You must select the General Test category for immigration purposes.

For French

1.       TEF

It is a general French test for both non-Francophones and Francophones to determine their level of ability in the French language. The TEF is also split into two categories: the TEF and the TEFAQ. If you are applying for Canadian permanent residency and are a natural French speaker, we recommend taking the TEF to demonstrate your French language skills.

Now that you are aware of the three language testing alternatives available for Canada immigration, we recommend that you first select a suitable Canada immigration programme and then select a testing option based on the requirements.

Immigration to Canada from India is only possible if you have the right score in any of the above mentioned tests. The scores achieved in this test will also impact your CRS scores.
